Daily Dose Monographic Images 1913 | Hui Choi >From series: The Swan's Journey Invisible Under Cloud Stereotype "Stereotype" is an artistic practice I undertook in 2018 to reconstruct tradition through a contemporary lens. By merging the religious symbolism of medieval oil paintings with the visual language of classical cinema, and employing Baroque-inspired lighting narratives, the work explores the ingrained cognitive patterns rooted in our cultural memory. These elements are reconfigured into visual metaphorical devices. Beneath the seemingly elegant classical aesthetic lies a profound reflection on the fragility of modern society and its modes of cognition.
